On Sunday, May 3, 2015, Benjamin Michael Graefnitz — son, brother and uncle — passed away at the age of 21.
Ben was born Aug. 27, 1993, in Zionsville, Indiana, to David and Joni Graefnitz. He attended Zionsville Community High School. Ben was an avid soccer player and had a strong interest in health and fitness. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his niece and three nephews.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Brian Graefnitz; sister-in-law, Laura Graefnitz; sister, Sarah Graefnitz; nephews, Jackson, Gavin and Paxton Graefnitz; and niece, Eliza Graefnitz.
Ben is preceded in death by his grandfather, John Eberle, and his grandmother, Doris Graefnitz.
A funeral mass in memory of Ben will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St., Zionsville, IN. Visitation will be at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 7. Burial will be in Zionsville Cemetery. Flanner and Bucahnan-Zionsville entrusted with arrangements.
Donations in Ben's memory may be made to the Tippecanoe County C.A.S.A, 301 Main St., Lafayette, IN 47901, (765-423-9109) to be used for scholarships for CASA youth to attend camps.
