Becky Jane Rosenberger

September 6, 1955 — May 20, 2013

Becky Jane (Tames) Rosenberger passed away at home early Monday morning, May 20, 2013, surrounded by her husband and children following a long and hard-fought battle with kidney cancer. She was 57 years old. She was born on September 6, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana as the third child of Catherine Beatrice (Hale) Tames and Harry Herbert Tames. Becky attended George Washington High School on Indianapolis' west side, where she graduated in 1973. She graduated with many honors, including being named class Valedictorian and Homecoming Queen, acting as the Editor in Chief of the school paper "The Surveyor", attending Hoosier Girls' State and earning numerous college scholarships. Becky then attended Franklin College, class of 1977. She pledged with the Delta Zeta Sorority, which lead to her fateful attendance at a rush party where she met her future husband Scott Jay Rosenberger. The two met and fell in love while at school at Franklin College. She graduated with a major in Journalism and minor in Business Administration. Following graduation, Becky and Scott married at Bel Air Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 15, 1977. Becky began her career with National Underwriters, Inc. in September of 1977, eventually becoming Senior Vice President of the company. She was with the company for 15 years, outlasting many changes in management and policies. Becky and her husband Scott raised three children, all born while Becky was working at National Underwriters, Inc. Son Kenneth Herbert Rosenberger was born February 21, 1981, son Eli Joseph Rosenberger was born January 1, 1983 and daughter Katie Louise Rosenberger was born on May 17, 1986 all in Indianapolis. Despite raising three children and having a full time job, Becky somehow found time to earn her Masters of Business administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in December 1987. When National Underwriters Inc. moved operations to Florida, Becky began working at Anthem Inc., with the title of Director of Anthem Information Technology. Anthem eventually became Wellpoint, Inc. where Becky's title became Director of Technology Services. While in this role she managed computer systems, the company Help Desk and numerous employees on a national scope. She was with Wellpoint, Inc. for 15 years. While Becky was very career-oriented and advanced quickly in her workplace, she still made time to volunteer. She was incredibly active with Greater Northwest Football Club and Eagledale Little League where her children not only played football, baseball and softball, but where Becky also volunteered countless hours of her time and energy as a board member. She formed lifelong friendships through these organizations, while positively influencing the lives of numerous little-leaguers, many of whom she grew to consider family. In 2009 Becky welcomed daughter-in-law Sarah (Vanat) Rosenberger (Kenneth) into the family, and grandson Elijah Jay Rosenberger on May 4, 2010 and soon grew to love her role as "granny" or "ni-ni". A second grandson is scheduled to make his debut in October 2013. She welcomed a second daughter in law Nichole (Carroll) Rosenberger (Eli) into the family in February of 2013 in San Francisco, California. Becky also welcomed Mako Mokeba (Katie) into the family as a future son-in-law. Becky's most recent career position was with Indiana University Health, where her title was Director, Infrastructure Applications. Becky ensured that all hospital laptops in the IU Health system were working properly, managed the technology help desk and many employees and contracts. Becky had an unparalleled work ethic, a brilliant mind, and a compassionate heart. She loved children and had a soft-spot for animals. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and was Mom to many pets. She is a Wife, a Daughter, a Sister, a Mother, an Aunt, a Cousin and a Friend to many. She will truly be missed.
