Beatrice Martin

Beatrice Martin, 86, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed awayJanuary 31, 2016 with family at her bedside. She was born in Gayscreek,Kentucky to Harlan and Mary West Morris. She was a mother, worked as awaitress, factory worker and bartender. After retirement, she took care of hergrandchildren. She married Luther Oliver in 1945. He died in 1962. They had 9children, two daughters and seven sons, 31 grandchildren and 55great-grandchildren. She preceded in death by Melvin Martin, who she married in1988.

Visitation will be held at Flanner and Buchanan-WashingtonPark North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228 on Thursday, February4, 2016 at 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held the following dayon Friday, February 5, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorialcontributions may be made to the Children’s Fund at Phillips Temple CME Church.A special thanks to the church for welcoming her as a member.
