Beatrice Lorraine Seibel (89) went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2014. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Ray (Dewey) and Irene Walker. Bea was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years Dr. Robert M. Seibel and her daughter Roberta Maire Seibel. She will be greatly missed until we see her again, by her two sons Steven (Susan) Seibel and David (Linda) Seibel, her six grandchildren Nathan, Matthew, Rachel, David, Christopher, Ray, and her six great grandchildren William, Macey, Owen, Samuel, Avery and Jonah.
Although having lived in Indianapolis, Indiana for nearly 22 years, the majority of her life was spent in Nashville, Indiana raising her family and working as a Registered Nurse alongside her husband in their medical practice the Seibel Clinic. While living in Nashville, Bea was very involved in the Nashville United Methodist Church. She was also a discussion leader for many years in Bible Study Fellowship. Bea was also active in the PEO sorority which promotes advanced education for women. She was vice-chairman of the Republican Party in Brown County during the 1980's and worked very hard to promote conservative ideals. Bea was also very active in the Indiana Nature Conservancy for which she received a Sagamore of the Wabash award from then Governor Otis R. Bowen.
After moving to Indianapolis, Bea was a member of the Old Bethel United Methodist Church. She and her husband took many missionary trips to Reynosa Mexico and worked in the medical clinic there which they helped to build. They also worked in the hospital visitation ministry together. Bea and her husband loved to travel and enjoyed seeing not only many places in our country but also the world. She also enjoyed golf and played often as long as she was physically able. Bea loved music, and regularly attended the symphony as well as other musical venues.
Bea will be remembered by her friends and family as a loyal supportive wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to spend her later years with her family, and participated greatly in their lives. Most of all though, we will remember her for her great faith, upon which she walked victoriously through life overcoming challenges with grace. She loved the Lord and shared His love with anyone who would listen.
