Barbra Jo Cunningham 57 of Indianapolis went to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 20, 2011. She was born June 15, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Richard L. and Jean N (Roettger) Cunningham. Barb was a Registered Nurse Clinical Educator, for the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at St. Francis Hospital Indianapolis, Indiana. She held graduate degrees from Purdue University, Indiana University, Indiana State University and University of Indianapolis and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Barb was currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Nursing from Ball State University and Divinity Degree from Anderson University. She was an Adjunct Professor for the School of Nursing University of Indianapolis. Previously Barbra was a science teacher for the Indianapolis Public Schools, Monrovia Schools, Franklin Township Schools and Noblesville Schools. During her teaching career she was active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, coaching and officiating.
Barb was also the Co-Founder of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Book Club Support Group. She volunteered at several Border Collie Rescue Group.
She was a member of Westview Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is survived by her parents; sister; Debbie Pisciotta, brothers; Ronald L. (Cathy) Cunningham, Steven P. (Cynthia) Cunningham, companion; Kathleen Lamb, nephews; Michael D. Cunningham, Matthew A. (Alyssa) Cunningham, Patrick H. Cunningham, niece; Elizabeth E. Cunningham, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Roberts Park United Methodist Church 401 N. Delaware Street Indianapolis, IN 46204 with calling 2 hours prior. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Indiana Blood and Marrow Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, Westview Christian Church Seminary Scholarship or Mission Work and Border Collie Rescue of Texas.
