Barbara A. Semo, 83 of Carmel, IN, formerly of Lewiston, NY, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025. Barbara was born May 3, 1942 in Carbondale, PA to the late Edward and Aneila Cerwonka.

Barbara lived in Memory Care for several years and fought her battle against dementia since 2012. Wherever Barbara went, she brought her luminous smile, quick wit, and engaging demeanor. She was delighted to have grown up as the youngest of 12 children and remained close with her siblings.

Barbara was the widow of John J. Semo, Jr., whom she married in 1967. She is survived by her son, Michael (wife, Lesley) Semo; granddaughter, Claire Semo; siblings, Joseph Cerwonka, Mary Leibrandt and Gerald Cerwonka. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Semo.

After graduating from Harpur College (now Binghamton University), Barbara worked for the Social Security Administration for over 30 years before retiring as a manager. She was an avid reader and while living in Lewiston volunteered at the library. She was a devoted wife and a fierce advocate for her late husband as he battled health issues. Barb was a dedicated Notre Dame fan and proud that both her sons attended the university. Barbara moved to Carmel, Indiana in early 2023 to be closer to Michael and his family.
