Barbara Joyce Klein

Barbara Joyce Klein 77 of Indianapolis passed away on June 27, 2025. A service will be held at 2 pm on Monday July 07, 2025, at Floral Park Cemetery in the Mausoleum Chapel.

Barbara was born in Oneida KY on March 31, 2025, but lived most of her life in Indianapolis. She passed from this life on June 27. 2025 in Indianapolis IN. She was predeceased by her much-loved husband of more than 35 years, Jay Klein, in January 2009. Barbara lost her beloved dog companion, Sugar, in 2022.

Barbara was also predeceased by her parents, James Nevins and Della Grubb Nevins Leinbach. Three of her siblings Joann, Wanda and James Nevins Jr also predeceased her. She is survived by her sister, Carol Key of Indianapolis, her sister-in-law Jill Nevins of Roaming Shores OH and her sister-in-law Sharon (Bill) Boyd and brother-in-law Dick Klein of Jasonville IN. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews also survive her.

Barbara was a member of the Church of Christ.

Barbara was employed with General Motors Corporation for many years, both at Allison’s and General Motors plants as an inspector in Indianapolis and Kokomo IN. She retired in 2004.

Barbara had a number of health problems over the years and kept going until she could not anymore. The family thanks all of those who treated or supported her over the years as well as faithful friends.

Barbara specifically asked for no flowers at her passing but those who wish to do so, may make a donation to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Society.
