Barbara Jean Ridgeway

Barbara Jean Ridgeway, 85, died on Monday, April 4, 2016. Barbara was born on September 11, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lawrence and Cora Faye (Grist) Steele. Barbara graduated from Tech high school, she went to college, receiving teaching degrees. She was an educator for St. Simon and Holy Cross, teaching Kindergarten thru grade school. She worked with the Taylor foundation, at the archdiocese, a program to assist children with visual and hearing dyslexia. She went on to instruct other sisters at the school on how to teach.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived a life of compassion, demonstrating how to be a giver as she become a long term caregiver to her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband, Stanley James Ridgeway; two sons, David Ridgeway and Larry Ridgeway (Carol Thompson); three grandchildren, David, Andrew and Ashley; brother in law, Riley Couch; nephews and nieces, Paul, Robert Michael, and Becky. She is proceeded in death by sister, Shirley (Steele) Couch.
Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery.
