Barbara J. Hahn

Barbara J. Hahn, 84 of Carmel, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.  Barbara was born September 26, 1938 in Ashtabula, OH to the late Guy and Ruby Lamb.  She was a graduate of The Ohio State University.

After graduation, Barbara taught school in Columbus, OH, Upper Arlington, OH and Bryn Mawr, PA. She retired from teaching to raise her family.  She later worked for Nordstrom in Indianapolis in the St. John department.  She was a Nordstrom “All-Star”.

Barbara was a member and volunteer at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, member of the Women’s Assistance League and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s Women’s Group. Barbara had a zest for life and loved to travel.  She was a master gardener who loved getting her hands in the earth and planting beautiful floral arrangements. She loved many dogs over the years and was active in many charities including Little Sisters of the Poor.

Family and friends are invited to gather at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 28 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Conner Suite, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Richard A. Hahn and her daughter, Tiffany A. Hahn.  She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew A. Hahn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County.
