Barbara R. Griebel 71, of Indianapolis, passed away April 11, 2011. She was born March 4, 1940, to Dewey and Laura (Stambaugh) Sargent, whom both preceded her in death. Barbara was an avid University of Kentucky fan, as was she a fan of all sports. She loved her church and loved to play music on the piano. She gave piano lessons from the time she was 14 years old. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Griebel; Children, Tammy (Eric) Norton, Linda (Andrew) Fair, Donald (Allison) Williams, and David Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Diane Griebel; 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandsons, Reid Alan Cambridge and Shane Thomas Williams Visitation for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, April 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at Dayspring Church, 2415 E. 72nd Street, Indianapolis, IN. Cremation will follow the services. After a long illness and courageous battle, Barbara passed away on Monday, April 11th. We thank her family, friends, church members, and many extended friends who have joined us in prayer. Barbara will be remembered as a joyful woman-who treasured her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all of her family and friends.
