Barbara E. Waits

Barbara E. Waits, 77 of Carmel, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015. Barbara was born October 17, 1938 in Indianapolis to the late William L. and Lilly B. Sanders. Barbara began her career as an executive secretary at PR Mallory, where she met her husband. She later worked as a real estate broker for AHM Graves, and served as office manager and bookkeeper for Construction, Inc. and Rutherford Construction Inc. and lastly as office manager and bookkeeper for Harriman Material Handling, Inc.

Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church of Indianapolis and volunteered for various community organizations and services.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 17 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Windsor P. Waits; children, Windsor Thomas Waits, II and Andrea L. (husband, Walter E.) York; grandchildren, Brandon Thomas (wife, Samantha M.) York and Lauren Lee York; sisters, Velma Haboush and Evelyn Gray; brothers, William Sanders and Walter R. Sanders. She was preceded in death by her sister, Opal Kerkhof.
