Barbara Du Long

Barbara Jean Du Long, 84, of Indianapolis, died November 11, 2010. Barbara was born September 29, 1926 in Bedford, IN to the late Cecil and Lillian Allen. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Stephens College in Columbia, MO and her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington. Barbara taught Kindergarten at White River Elementary School and Second Grade at John Strange Elementary School. She was a member of Tri Kappa, the Indianapolis Country Club, Old Oakland Country Club, and the Episcopal Church. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Lloyd Du Long. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Du Long-Ulrey (husband Steve) and Sandy Snider; grandchildren, Erica, Amanda, and Alyssa Ulrey and Andy (wife Leslie) and Kimberly Snider; and great-granddaughter, Maliya. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, November 15 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Broad Ripple. A Service in Celebration of Barbara’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 16 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Carmel. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
