In Loving Memory of Barbara Ann Dininger
June 13, 1941 – June 23, 2025
Barbara Ann Dininger, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on June 23, 2025, after a courageous and grace-filled battle with cancer. She is now with our Lord and leaves behind her childhood sweetheart and beloved husband, Walter Jr., with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. They both grew up on Blaine Avenue in Indianapolis, where they were married just down the block at Assumption Parish.
She was a cherished mother of four children: Dennis & Liz (Reeves) Dininger, Mike & Donna (Wilson) Dininger, Cathy & Sean (Eastes), and Lisa & James (Harley); a proud grandmother of Dylan & Maria (Kouri) Dininger, Nick & Stephanie (Richter) Dininger, Allen & Meghan (Forbing) Dininger, Aniston Eastes, Olivia Dininger, Curran Eastes, Walter Harley, and William Harley; and a loving great-grandmother to Vivien Dininger, Lillian Dininger, Annabelle Dininger, Callahan Dininger, Josephine Dininger, Shepard Dininger, and another great-grandchild on the way. Her family was the heart of her world, and she lived every day with love, grace, and selfless devotion.
Barb was a woman of deep and unwavering Catholic faith, which guided her every step in life. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and steady love touched everyone she met, and she was a treasured friend to many. She found joy in simple pleasures—knitting lovingly for her family and friends at Maplewood Farm, sharing laughter during her monthly euchre club, and offering a warm, listening ear to anyone in need.
She volunteered with compassion at the St. Augustine Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. For many years, Barb served faithfully as the office manager for the Knights of Columbus, where her professionalism, kindness, and dedication left a lasting legacy. Her work was not only a job but a ministry of service and community.
We will miss her steady presence, her warm hugs, and her quiet strength, but we take comfort in knowing she is now in the arms of her Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church (6131 N Michigan Rd., Indianapolis, IN) on Wednesday, July 2nd at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Monica Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Indianapolis, in honor of Barb’s memory, faith, and generous spirit.
