Barbara DeMunbrun, 82, Indianapolis, passed away October 2, 2013. She was born February 1, 1931 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Charles and Bessie Powell. Barbara was a member of Southport Heights Christian Church, where she sang with "Sisters in Song". She enjoyed volunteering as a creative writing teacher with Adult and Child Mental Health Services. Barbara loved her family very much. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. Barbara is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lowell A. DeMunbrun; her son, Steve DeMunbrun (Tess); her daughters, Patty Sears (Roger), Donna DeMunbrun, and Susan DeMunbrun Spearing (Paul); her sisters-in-law, Linda Jessup and Shirley Trusler; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Tracie, Lori, Elisa, Julie, Nathan, and Eric; and 21 great-grandchildren. Services will be on Saturday, October 5 at 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, with calling from 11 AM until service time. Entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's (Team DeMunbrun), with envelopes available at the funeral center.
