Barbara Billingsley

Barbara Ann Billingsley, 81 of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born December 29, 1933 in Indianapolis to the late Roy C. and Matilda "Mickey" Herron. The mother of 9 children, she also worked as a receptionist at St. Vincent Hospital, RCI and Methodist Hospital. Barbara was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and had been a volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am Friday, July 10 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, July 9 at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple, where the recitation of the Rosary will take place at 7:30 pm. Barbara is survived by her husband of 61 years, James L.; children, Beth A. (David) Ferris, J. Michael Billingsley, Lisa A. (David) Lopes, Joseph S. Billingsley, Karen A. Billingsley, Susan A. (Tom) Noone, Brenda A. (Todd) Wood, Linda A. (Hans) Confer, Laura A. (Jeff) Madden; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brothers, James P. and Joseph M. Herron; sister, Carolyn M. Lynch. She was preceded in death by her brother, John J. "Jack" Herron.
