Barbara A. 'Babs' Mccaffrey

Barbara "Babs" O'Connor McCaffrey 84, died peacefully with her family in her Indianapolis home on June 26, 2013, just a short time after her 62nd wedding anniversary. Born on March 22, 1929 of Joseph B. and Charlotte Merrell Connor. Because of a family mix-up, she and her family used the last name O'Connor for part of her life. Barbara graduated from Fowler Indiana High School and Purdue University. She worked for L.S. Ayres Company, Indianapolis Power and Light Company, and Sears Roebuck and Company, where she retired in 1986. She was also a homemaker, raising a boy and twin girls. Surviving are her husband, Robert "Bob" McCaffrey, Son Stephen McCaffrey and his wife Melissa of Knightstown, and two daughters Linda McCaffrey and Sharon Pillow, both of Indianapolis. Grandchildren are Scott Pillow, Vicki Arnold, John Duckworth, Laura McCaffrey, and Rachel McCaffrey. Memorial gifts may be donated to the American Cancer Society.
