Austin Daniel Trotter, age 29, of Hartford City, IN, passed away on May 6, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1996, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Austin was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, loyal friend, and a light in the lives of all who knew him. He had a smile that could light up any room and a spirit that lifted those around him. He never hesitated to help those he cared about, and his kindness left a lasting impression on countless lives.
Austin proudly enlisted in the Air National Guard on August 19, 2014, where he was actively serving as a Technical Sergeant (E-6), specializing in aircraft electrical and environmental systems at the 122nd Fighter Wing in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was dedicated to his service and his craft, participating in numerous training missions around the country, serving as a member of the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) team, and, in 2018, deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel. Known as “whiz bang” or “whiz” on the base, he was known for his high energy, positive attitude, and a knack for making even the hardest days a little lighter for those who had the privilege of working with him.
On January 15, 2016, Austin married his high school sweetheart, Courtney (Adams) Trotter. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two sons, Zayden and Daxton, who were the center of Austin’s world. Austin had a deep passion for motocross, which he shared with his boys, family, and a close group of friends, most of whom could be considered brothers. While his loss is deeply felt, Austin’s spirit endures in his sons and in the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Austin is survived by his wife, Courtney (Adams) Trotter; their boys, Zayden and Daxton; his parents, Paul (Emily) Gore and Amanda Trotter; his siblings, Casey Trotter, Hannah (Spencer) Jeffers, Ashley Gore, Madison Trotter, Matthew Trotter, Peyton Gore, and Ava Vandevander; and his grandparents, Ernie and Rebecca Trotter, Sandra Gore, and Wayne Burns.
