Aubrey E. Ward, 82, passed away at home on June 17, 2016. He was born on June 13, 1934 in Clinton, TN to the late Frank Ward and the late Bea Jester. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary (Moffitt) Ward and sister Frances (Al) Nott. He is survived by his son Dan (Debi) Ward; his daughters Lory Ward and Pam (Steve) Brunk; granddaughters Kara (James) Peterson, Megan Ward, Stacey (Chris) Gould , and Brittany Ward; grandson Tony (Lindsey) Brunk; great grandchildren Amiya, Lillian, Carson, Alexis, and Charlotte; brother Ben (Bev) Ward, and sisters Sue (Don) Estep, and Nickey (Mike) Rose.
He retired in 1990 after more than 37 years of service to the federal government at the Naval Avionics Facility in Indianapolis. He is a Navy veteran and was a member of the Murat Shrine, Scottish Rite, and was a past master of the Beech Grove Masonic Lodge. Aubrey was a licensed clockmaker and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and the American Watchmaker’s Institute. Much of his time in retirement was spent repairing clocks as a hobby, and he also loved golfing, traveling with his wife and friends, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 4pm – 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis 46229. A memorial service will take place there on Saturday, June 25 at 2 pm.
