Arthur Nuckols

Arthur Lane Nuckols, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at his home in Indianapolis, IN. Arthur was born in Auburn, KY son of Marion and Edna (Rigar) Nuckols. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy during WW II aboard the Thomas J. Gary DE 326. Arthur was one of the last of the Greatest Generation. We are all standing on these hero's shoulders. He was a supervisor with IPS and retired in 1980 He is survived by daughters, Mary Yant (Kevin Douglas), Betty Garrity (Don) and Teresa Reedy; son, Wayne Nuckols (Ginna); daughter in law, Barbara Nuckols; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Arline Nuckols and his second wife, Ruby Nuckols; son, James Nuckols, daughter, Brenda Sue Nuckols and granddaughter, Susie Garrity. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center at Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, October 28, 2011 at the funeral center. Burial will be in the Washington Park East Cemetery with military rites.
