Arlene Cooper died peacefully at the age of 96 in Brownsburg, Indiana on November 12, 2015.
She was born September 25, 1919 in Rochester, New York to the late Florence (Seitz) and Price Palmer. She married Rev. Edward Cooper in 1940 and the couple pastored Assembly of God churches in Martinsville and Danville, New York as well as in Bridgeton and Williamstown, New Jersey.
Arlene graduated from Glassboro State College with a degree in elementary education and taught school in Bridgeton and Millville, New Jersey. She spent summers teaching migrant children in South Jersey. After moving to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1980, Arlene taught sixth grade at Lakeview Academy and served as a first grade assistant at Chapel Glen Elementary. She was a beloved caring teacher who inspired a love of learning in her students.
Arlene is survived by her two sons and their families, Dwight and Darlene Cooper and David and Karen Cooper; three grandsons, and their spouses, Erik and Mandy Cooper, Darren and Britney Cooper and Chad and Lisa Cooper; five great grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Austin, Chase and Story Cooper.
Visitation will be 10 am until service time at 11 am Monday, November. 16, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd. Entombment will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.
