We celebrate the life of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Arlene Sunday Bly. She passed away very peacefully on Friday, August 24th, 2012, two months shy of her 97th birthday! She lived a wonder-filled life of love, adventure, Christian service & extraordinary generosity.
Her parents, Myrtle and Frederick Sunday, had seven children born between the years of 1915 & 1933. Arlene was the firstborn and outlived all of her siblings. She lost her beloved husband Frederick Dean Bly in 1997, and her ashes will rest next to him in Farmland, Indiana. Reunited in Heaven!
Mother's favorite bible verse was "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10) .....Anyone who knew her knows that "being still" was not easy for Arlene! She exuded energy, optimism, determination, independence, humor and joy. She loved to read, to fish, to hunt, to climb mountains and explore. She would try anything at least once. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, friend, neighbor, professional secretary, scout leader, hospital, church & election volunteer. She was the original energizer bunny! We all miss her vibrant spirit, but know that love leaves behind much more than death can ever take away.
We are comforted by the certain knowledge that Arlene is resting in the love and peace she has found in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Only one thing was found in Arlene's billfold.....a small white card entitled "Saved Now and Forever". Paul's words, it reads "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus Our Lord". (Romans 8:38-39)
