Archie Trickey, 87, of West Lafayette, IN and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away July 8, 2013 at the Indiana Veterans Home in Lafayette. He was born January 2, 1926 in Jackson, MO the son of John W. and Laura (Medlock) Trickey. He was a WW II US Army veteran and had been a machinist at Chrysler until his retirement in February 1988. He was a longtime member of Heather Hills Baptist Church. He married his wife Jessie in 1950 and she preceded him in death. His parents also preceded him in death. Archie loved airplanes, camping, fishing, making homemade ice cream for his grandchildren, cooking and telling stories of his childhood and Army days. In his earlier years he enjoyed square dancing and also had been a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his son, Lou Finley and his wife Jackie of Indianapolis; granddaughter Melissa Jones and her husband John of Indianapolis, Shannon Finley and Camon Finley; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. Several nieces and nephews and many friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, with Rev. Bob Hays officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the service time. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
