Arbutus (Willis) Rinehart born November 8, 1921 died February 3, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul R. Rinehart, father William Willis, mother Elizabeth Willis, and her siblings, Robert, Roxie, Irene, Hector and Columbus.
Arbutus was a 1940 graduate of Winslow High School in Pike County. She was married to Paul Rinehart for over 50 years until his passing in 2001. In 1951, she graduated from the Burroughs Business College in Indianapolis.
Arbutus work for the United States Civil Service Commission in Washington D.C. during WWII while her husband was recovering from injuries sustained during the Battle of the Bulge. They returned to Indiana after her husband's honorable discharge from the Army. She worked for American Mutual Liability Insurance Company as a payroll clerk.
Arbutus's most satisfying work was assisting her husband in managing their two businesses. Together they worked as upholsters for Lazyboy furniture and concessionaires for Ray Skillman Buick-GMC dealership and Stout's RVs.
She is survived by her nephews and nieces Robert, Alvie, Rose, Clair, Beth, Marlene, Wanna, Dewitt, James, and Rick Willis.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 2-3pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North in the Great Hall Chapel of Washington Park North Cemetery, with funeral services to begin at 3pm. Online condolences may be made at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
