Anthony "Tony" J. Pekarski

Indianapolis, Indiana

Anthony “Tony” J. Pekarski, 88 of Indianapolis died June 4, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Tony was born April 23, 1930 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Louis A. and Mary Pekarski.  He served his country in the US Air Force and went on to work for Naval Avionics and moved to Indianapolis where he retired after more than 30 years working for the Department of Finance & Accounting for the military’s financial headquarters at Ft. Benjamin Harrison.

He enjoyed taking his daughters on trips to visit relatives, playing softball, bowling, and gardening as he took great pride in his yard.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and as a wonderful dad and grandpa.

Tony is survived by his wife of 57 years Masami Pekarski; twin daughters June Barnes (Ed) and Jinnie Pekarski; grandsons Trevor and Drew Barnes; sister-in-law Joanne Pekarski; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Louis Pekarski, Bernard Pekarski, Beatrice Pekarski, and Claire Early; sister-in-law Lee Pekarski; and brother-in-law Jimmy Early.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, June 8 from 4-6 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis with Military Honors at 6 pm.
