Labita, Anthony M. (Tony) passed away August 6, 2016 at age91. He is survived by his loving wife, Grayce and devoted sons, Gary, Glenn(Melinda) and Gregg, and grandchildren, Alex Labita Kozik and Dylan Labita.
Tony was born January 30, 1925 to Michael and SebastianaLabita in Brooklyn, NY. He joined the U.S. Army on July 1943. He served in theEuropean Theatre of Operations in the Signal Corps achieving rank of T-5. Uponhis discharge in 1946, he returned home and enrolled in Brooklyn College andobtained a Bachelor of Science. He later attended the Wharton School. He beganhis career in Human Resources working with Republic Aviation, Grumman, ITT, andLoral Corp. He retired from Loral as Vice President of Administration in 1991.He was chairman of S.C.O.R.E. for several years on Long Island, NY as well asIndianapolis. He and Grayce enjoyed traveling. Tony was an avid bowler, readextensively, especially history and loved to tinker in electronics.
