Anne Barth

June 11, 1949 — January 20, 2013

Anne Barth, 63, of Zionsville, beloved wife of Gregg Barth, went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2013, in Naples, Florida. The only daughter of the late Robert and Sally McConnell of Indianapolis, Anne graduated from Tudor Hall in 1967, earned her bachelor's degree from DePauw University in 1971 and her Masters degree in education from Butler University in 1978. After teaching several years in the Indianapolis Public Schools, she later spent 23 years teaching fourth and fifth grades at Eagle Creek Elementary School in Pike Township. After her retirement in 2009, Anne's happiest times were spent with her family and friends, both in Zionsville and Naples, Florida. She especially enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren. Anne is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gregg, and her daughters Frances (Christopher) Barth of Goshen, Indiana, their daughters Zoë and Evelyn, and Katie (Adam) Wright of Carmel and their three children Avery, Brady and Mac. Anne was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, the Junior League of Indianapolis and the Children's Museum Guild. She was an active member of Zionsville Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Zionsville Presbyterian Church, with a gathering immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the The Villages of Indiana, Inc. or the Pike Township Educational Foundation.
