Anna McAvoy

Anna G. McAvoy of Greensburg, IN, passed away on November 12, 2023, at the age of 99. She was born in Terre Haute, IN, on March 10, 1924, to parents, Howard and Zella (Conway) Leach. She graduated from Glenn Highschool in 1942. Anna worked for Western Electric for many years until the Factory’s closing.  Anna loved spending her time caring for her children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren over the years. She spent time in her retired years traveling with her husband and family on many vacations. Anna liked working in her flower garden, taking walks and swimming. She enjoyed watching horse races or Derby. Anna loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Anna married Thomas McAvoy on December 25^th, 1945, they spent over 70 wonderful years together, he/ preceded her in death. She is survived by children, Tom (Sara) McAvoy, Barb Satkamp, Nancy Peacock, and Marty McAvoy; grandchildren, Jennifer (Sid) Lucas, Cindy VanHoover, Toby Peacock, Tom McAvoy, Kelly (Jobe) Makar, Anlyn DiPalma; great-grandchildren, Ciara Satkamp, Alexis (Derek) Ralph, Austin (Sandy) Day, Kyle Day, Sida (Bethany) Lucas, Catelin Day, Lillian (Justus) Pender, Ana Van Hoover, Tommy Van Hoover, Krista DiPalma, Timmy DiPalma, Kyrie Makar, Nicholas Peacock, Chienne Peacock; great-great-grandchildren, Adaline Pender, Nova Lucas, Miguel Day, Riley Day, Amaya Peacock, Jaszmyn Peacock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol (Ken) Hutchinson; son-in-law, Dick Satkamp; grandchildren, Scott Satkamp and Lisa Hutchinson.  

Visitation will be held from 11am until 12pm, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN). A Funeral Service will be held at 12pm, November 18, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. Burial will follow funeral service at Washington Park East Cemetery.
