December 21, 1937 — November 27, 2025

Greenfield

Anna Marie Mahon, 87, peacefully passed away early Thanksgiving morning on November 27, 2025 at Charter Senior Living in Greenfield, Indiana. Anna was born on December 21, 1937 in Placentia, Newfoundland, Canada to parents John and Violet (Collins) Gale. Anna met the love of her life, Raymond Mahon, who was stationed at the U.S. Navy base in Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada. They were married on July 30, 1960 and spent 56 years together until Raymond’s unfortunate passing in 2017.

Anna was a devoted homemaker, who took great pride in keeping a neat and tidy house. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends, and was particularly known for her world-famous potato salad.

Anna enjoyed shopping, solving a good crossword puzzle, scratch-off lottery tickets, and going out to play Bingo during the week. Family game nights at her house on Saturday’s spending time with her children and grandchildren created many special memories.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Harold Mahon, and son, Robert Terrence Mahon as well as her four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her children Carolyn Hansen (Doug) and Richard Mahon (Denise), grandchildren Katie Bennett, James Bennett III (Shannon), Kristen Bennett (Christopher), and Jaclyn Mahon, one step-granddaughter Dusty Austin (Michael), as well as nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several other family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Charter Senior Living and Hospice Care with Paradigm Health.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Flanner Buchanan (Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., with funeral services following at 12 p.m. Burial will take place following services at Washington Park East Cemetery.
