Franklin — Anna Jane (Brown) Mahan, 91, died December 4, 2023, at the Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community in Franklin. She was surrounded by her family when she passed.

She is survived by a son, Bill Mahan (Julie) of Greenwood, Indiana; daughter, Donna Mahan of Indianapolis; stepson, Michael Slinker (Pam) of Klamath Falls, Oregon; grandchildren, Jessica Mahan-Keefe, Katie Mahan, Jacob Slinker, Daniel Slinker; six great-grandchildren; and many close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Jean Hall; and husband, William Guy Mahan.

Jane, daughter of Charles and Helen Brown, was born July 22, 1932, in Westminster, Maryland. Graduating from Westminster High School in 1951, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Richmond Professional Institute of the College of William and Mary. Jane traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana to work as an OT, which she did for 30 years.

Jane was always active with the United Methodist Church and P.E.O. She enjoyed going to the ballet, symphony, and theatre (live or motion picture). Jane loved travel and made trips through the US, Europe, Africa, and China. Jane made many good friends – friends that she kept in touch with through faithful calls and correspondence. But her true passion was to family through her presence, encouragement, and love.

Visitation will be at the Wright Memorial Chapel in the Otterbein SeniorLife Center, 1070 West Jefferson St, Franklin, IN on Saturday December 9, 2023, at 1pm, followed by a brief memorial at 2pm with Reverend Dr. Jenothy Irvine, of Grace UMC conducting.

The inurnment will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, IN at a later date.
