Anna Lois (Smith) Fugitt
93, passed away September 26 at IU West Hospital.
She was born September 4, 1920 in Scottsville, Kentucky to the late Lola Ruth (Willoughby) and Walter Paul Jordan.
She married Amos L Smith on October 6, 1936. They moved to Indianapolis in 1939.
Lois had worked at the exclusive department store Wm. H. Block Co. She was in charge of the Gownroom /Frenchroom and managed the Boutique also. Known as a top sales lady with a real 'flair for fashion', Lois had customers living out of Indiana who came to Indy and ask for Mrs. Smith. After retirement she worked as an after school care giver for children attending the Light and Life Free Methodist Church/School. Lois was a member of the West Morris Street Free Methodist Church (WEMO) for 72 years serving as a Sunday school teacher, ladies missionary group worker and a soloist with the choir.
Lois is survived by her son, Jeffory Len Smith; daughter, Patricia Ann Strange; sisters, Betty Justice, Barbara Richards; brother, Rance Jordan.
She also had grandchildren, Beverly (Adams) Parrish, James (Tony) Strange; great grandchildren, Jason Adams, Jaema (Adams) Abbott, Janae Adams, Ian Strange, Emma Strange; great- great grandchildren, Devin Cameron, Amaris Thames, Ciara Belk, Taylor Adams; and great, great -great grandson Hayden Belk.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Amos L Smith; husband, Hank Fugitt; sisters, Lula Mae Ragan, Peggy Watson; brother, Oren Jordan; granddaughter, Linda Kay Strange.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Funeral on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd.
