Beloved by many, Ann Louise Ohlinger Bizzaro, 66, passed away much too soon on October 18, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Tom, their children, Amelia and Sarah, and her grandchildren, Ethan and Emma. She leaves behind her father, James H. Ohlinger; sister, Peggy (Ed) Callihan, brothers Mark (Judy) Ohlinger, Jim (Wanda) Ohlinger, brother-in-law Patrick (Bonnie) Bizzaro, and her many nieces and nephews and grand- nieces and nephews.
Annie was one of only a few women in her class at the Toledo University School of Pharmacy and spent many years working as a retail pharmacist. Though not a member of the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP), she was an active supporter of the Council and its foundation. Every year, she made a unique piece of beaded jewelry for the annual auction supporting the Foundation.
She was the best cook, and could do anything with needle and thread—repair a wedding dress in the middle of the night, make prom dresses and christening gowns, create Christmas tree ornaments (the drunken reindeer is a family favorite), and make gorgeous jewelry, just to name a few.
Annie was a long-time member of the National Academy of Needlearts, and American Needlepoint Guild. She was heavily involved in Embroiders Guild of America, Great Lakes Region, and the Central Indiana Association of Pharmacists, where she had been the treasurer for over 20 years.
Her grandchildren adored her. Ethan and Emma, who called her Bunka A, loved running up to her for her big hugs. Plus, she always gave them big pieces when it came time for dessert.
Annie was always up for an adventure—whether it was dragging her new husband into a bar in the docks of Honolulu, riding the big slide with the grandkids at the museum, or parasailing at the beach with Sarah and Lindsay this past August.
Family and friends are invited to gather Sunday, October 22 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, and from 9:00 to 10:00 am Monday, October 23 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday.
