Ann Jacobus

Ann "Nancy" Jacobus, 71, formerly of Zionsville, IN and Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2015 in Westfield, IN. Nancy was born in Pottsville, PA on May 11th, 1943 to Peter and Anna O'Donnell. She grew up in Wilkes-Barre, PA surrounded by her large extended family and friends. Nancy graduated from St. Mary's High School and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkes Barre, PA. Following years of living in locales throughout the US and a brief stint in Saudi Arabia, she settled in Zionsville in 1989. Nancy served and cared for many people throughout her life as a Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Wife, camp counsellor and swimming instructor, nurse to military personnel and seniors, school volunteer, and library volunteer. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and collecting cookbooks. She is survived by her son Nelson Jacobus (Lori) of Westfield, IN, her brother Peter O'Donnell (Jean) of Natrona Heights, PA, and loving grand-children Garrett, Caroline, and Isabel Jacobus. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church in Zionsville. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday at the church and 1 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hussey-Mayfield Library in Zionsville. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Flanner and Buchanan -Zionsville.
