Ann K. Barnhorst Taylor, a beloved wife, sister, passed away on June 15, 2025, Indianapolis, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and warmth. Born on November 13, 1959, Ann's passion for design and crafting flourished throughout her life, culminating in her career where she utilized her talents to create beautiful designs for cards, stamps, and other mixed media crafts. Her immaculate eye for color and her innovative approach to creativity endeared her to many and inspired those around her.
Ann's journey through education began at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she not only earned her bachelor's degree but met basketball legend Larry Bird. Her spirit was characterized by a drive to teach others the skills she cherished, embodying a true go-getter mentality. Whether it was through crafting or even teaching Tai Chi classes, Ann's dedication to sharing her knowledge made a meaningful impact on countless lives.
In November 1985, Ann met Todd Taylor, and they quickly fell in love. Their bond culminated in a joyful marriage on August 2, 1986. Together 40 plus years, they built a life filled with love, family, and shared passions. Ann cherished her role as a loving wife, and her home was always a place of creativity and kindness.
Besides her deep commitment to her family, Ann had a rich tapestry of interests. In high school and college, she demonstrated exceptional talent as a tennis player, ultimately giving lessons and sharing her love for the sport with others. Her involvement with the Arthritis Foundation showed her compassion and desire to make a difference in her community.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband, Todd Taylor; her brothers, Bill (Carole Casto) Barnhorst and Tom (Laura) Barnhorst; her sister-in-law, Christie Barnhorst; and her cherished nephews Leo and Joe and her two nieces Emmy, and Morgan.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Mark Barnhorst, her dear nephew Andrew Barnhorst and her parents, Shirley and Leo Barnhorst.
Ann's proudest accomplishment was overcoming life's challenges with resilience and living life to its fullest. Though her time with us was far too short, her creative spirit and loving nature will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on June 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Washington Park East, located at 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Ann's life and share the memories that she leaves behind.
