It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anita Louise Weaver, 75, on January 17, 2026. Anita was born February 8, 1950, to Glen R. Weaver and Lillian (Hamilton) Weaver in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Though Anita never married or had children of her own, she poured her love into family, friends, and the countless young students whose lives she touched during her years as a preschool teacher. Fun-loving, artistic, and adventurous, Anita had a gift for turning everyday moments into cherished memories—whether through her creative crafts, her infectious enthusiasm, or her genuine warmth.
Family gatherings were never complete without Anita and her beloved companions, Bitsy, Bojo, Brandy and Buddy. Her love for animals was matched only by her love for children and her dedication to nurturing young minds.
Anita spent most of her life on Indianapolis's East Side before moving to Franklin, Indiana, in her later years.
Anita was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian; her father, Glen R. Weaver; her stepfather, Glenn Adams; and her dear friend, Karen Savoie.
She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Sue (Susie) Schachte; her brother-in-law, Harry J. Schachte; her nephew, Robert (Bob) Miller; and her niece, Jennifer Walker.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
Please join us as we honor Anita at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park (9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229) on March 6, 2026 at 1:00pm.
