Anita Mae Wdowka 91, of Indianapolis, was a loving mom, grandma, and great-grandma and sister, who joined the Lord in Heaven on December 8, 2010, after lunch with friends from church. Anita was born in Indianapolis, the daughter of Ernest and Catherine (Ladd) Klatte. As a founding member of Wesley United Methodist Church, she was an integral part of the life of the church through leadership roles and by teaching Sunday School for over 60 years. Before retirement, Anita was Chief Deputy Auditor for Marion County and previously worked for Council on Aging and Lincoln National Insurance and attended Butler University. She showed her creativity through freelance writing and gardening. Her flower gardens were an inspiration to her neighbors. Her passions were serving the Lord and loving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, watching sports, and playing cards. Anita was preceded in death by her husbands Robert Allen McConnell (killed in service) and Louis Joseph Wdowka, brother Albert Klatte, and great-granddaughter Aubrey Williams. Anita is survived by her 2 brothers, Dr. Eugene Klatte and Dr. Ernest Klatte, 3 children, Carol (Dr. John) Wolf, Dr. Steve Wdowka & Sandi (Rob) French, and grandchildren Dr. Mathew (Dr. Allison) Wolf, Amy Wolf, Christy (Dr. Eric) Williams, Sandy French, RJ French (fiancé Vesna Popovic), great-grandchildren Carl & Reid Wolf, Isabella Hanson, and Evan Williams. Please join us in celebrating Anita's 91 years on Saturday, December 18, at 11:00 am at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3425 West 30th Street.
