Anita Louise Goris

Anita Louise Goris, 69, of Westfield passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday August 6 after a nearly 5 year determined battle with pancreatic cancer.

Anita was born December 20, 1953 in Logansport to Pat and Eseline Marocco. She attended Logansport HS where she was a member of the Berryettes dance team. She attended Purdue and Colorado State Universities graduating in 1978 with a BA in interior design. Anita met her future husband, Jack, as a high school freshman. They were married on May 22, 1976 in Logansport at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Anita, Jack and new baby Kyle moved to Lafayette In 1982 where Anita juggled being a full time mom with a freelance interior design career while Jack began his dental practice.

Anita and Jack lived in Lafayette for 39 years before moving to Westfield to be closer to family. Anita was a talented interior designer who could make any room not just visually beautiful but special. She had the ability to effortlessly add personal, sentimental touches to the spaces she decorated. She always would say, “I want this room to be so special you never want to leave it”. Anita loved long dinners, nature walks, shopping and most of all, her family.

She was the beloved wife of Jack (47 yrs), loving mother of Kyle (Hilari), Jaclyn (Chris), and Kate ( Anthony). Dear grandmother (Gigi) to Jackson, Bennett, Sophia, Patrick and Gwenyth. She was preceded in death by her brother, Pat.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 9th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Carmel Indiana. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
