Angela "Angie" Joylne Dunham was born on April 30, 1967, in Gary, IN, as the only child to Arthur Lee Dunham and Enid (Perry) Dunham. Angie professed her love for Christ at a young age and attended the First Baptist Church of East Chicago, IN.
Angie graduated from Gary West Side High School in 1985, where she participated in ROTC and women's basketball. After attending Central State University in Ohio, she returned home to Indiana to take care of her mother. She moved to Indianapolis in 1993, where she met, dated and fell in love with the love of her life, Edwin L. Roberson Sr. Their beautiful love story began in a "chat room" back in the days when online dating wasn't even a thing! After dating long-distance, they later married on July 21, 1997.
Two of Angie's favorite activities were bowling and cheering on the Chicago Bears. However, nothing could ever compare to the love she had for her husband, Edwin, and the three lights of her life: Edwin L. Roberson Jr, Ellyssia M. Roberson, and Armelius J. Roberson. Angie also had a deep love for Christ and became an ordained minister in 2008 at New Beginnings Ministries.
Angie was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2015. But, despite her illness, she fought an inspiring fight, thanks to her unwavering faith and God's amazing grace. Thankfully, after a year of chemo and radiation treatments, she was cancer free!
After her treatments, she decided to go back to school. Not only did she earn her associates degree at Indiana Wesleyan University in 2021, but she also earned her bachelor's degree in biblical studies in December of 2023.
Angela loved working at Chapelwood Elementary School in Wayne Township of Indianapolis since 2011. She made an impact as a paraprofessional, HOSTS instructor, and classroom teacher for both 4th and 6th grades. She loved her students and colleagues dearly and made it a point to make everyone feel seen and loved. Angie is also a proud member of the Alpha Omega Chi Sorority.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Edwin, her children Edwin Jr., Ellyssia and Armelius, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted children, and friends.
