Andrew Eugene Henderson

Andrew Eugene Henderson (Andy), age 65, passed away peacefully on the 12^th of October 2019 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, following a courageous fight against cancer.   He was a 1975 graduate of Franklin College with a degree in English Literature and was a member of the Lamba Chi Alpha Fraternity.   He also attended Purdue’s for classes in Civil Engineering.  Andy married his best friend Jeannine Ogle Henderson (Jeannie) on October 20, 1990.  He worked for several large retail organizations before pursuing entrepreneurship and management of a family real estate company.

Andy lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; hanging out with Jeannie and his family, taking photographs and spending time with his nieces and nephews.  His greatest passions were music, photography and old unique cars.  He enjoyed travel, good meals and a good glass of wine. He was a colorful character with a great sense of humor.  He loved his wife, family and dogs fiercely.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Henderson; his parents Gene and Mary Lou Henderson; his brother Joe Henderson; his sister Carrie Henderson (Jack Beatty); his sister in law Joni Kahn (Ralph); his brother in law Jim Ogle; his nieces and nephews Christy Walkup (Patrick McCarney); Mike Walkup; Matt Walkup (Stephanie); Joe Henderson (Sara); Paul Henderson (Maren); Patrick Kahn (Amanda); Madelyn Kahn; Julia Kahn.

Special thanks to Dr. Bhadia and his staff Chelsea and Esta for the loving care shown to Andy during his illness.

Family, friends and others whose lives Andy touched are invited to the Flanner and Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis IN  46250, Saturday, October 19, 2019 for the Visitation and Funeral Service.   Visitation is scheduled from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Conner Suite, with the Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Community North Hospital Cancer Center.
