Amy Lynne Carlile

January 25, 1965 — April 29, 2025

Indianapolis, Indiana

Amy Lynne Carlile passed away on April 29, 2025, at her home in Indianapolis, IN. Amy was born in Williamsport, IN on January 25, 1965, to Wilma Fletcher Carlile and Keith “Wayne” Carlile. She grew up on a farm in Warren County and lived her entire life in Indiana. She graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon and from Indiana University in Bloomington with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Amy’s career began with Chase Bank in Lafayette, and she was most recently employed by Indiana University in Indianapolis, first in the School of Law and then the School of Medicine. Her last position in the Department of Radiation and Imaging Sciences was most rewarding.

Amy had many talents she enjoyed throughout her life. She had a keen eye for photography which she started in high school and continued her entire life. While in Lafayette she became active in the Lafayette Civic Theatre and met many good friends. This may have sparked her love for Broadway shows. Amy also enjoyed traveling (especially New York City and Tuscany), DIY projects, and baking. Being a true Hoosier, she became a devoted Indy 500 race car fan. She appreciated the history of the sport, as well as the current drivers who she followed. Her enthusiasm will be remembered by family and friends every Memorial Day weekend.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Wayne Carlile. She is survived by her sister Joyce Carlile Houser of Indianapolis and brother Gary Carlile (wife Jeanie) of Houston, TX and nieces and nephew: Erin Houser Gozdzielski (husband Adam) and Joshua Houser, Elizabeth Carlile Broussard (husband Anthony), Katie Carlie, Maggie Carlile Smith (husband Tim), and Susie Carlile. Amy is also survived by her aunt, Karen Fletcher Erickson, and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, at 1:00pm, with visitation immediately following until 3:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan - Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Dr, Carmel, IN 46032. Share memories and condolences online at www.flannerbuchanan.com.

Amy was passionate about cardiovascular research and the difference it could bring to those affected by cardiovascular disease. Both she and her family had been impacted, and she was excited to work every day knowing that she participated in changing the path of cardiovascular disease. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to continue the critical research.
