Amador Maldonado Cruz,
77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.
Born on February 20, 1949, in Acámbaro, Mexico, Amador was the beloved son of the late Eduardo Maldonado Velasquez and Francisca Sanchez Cruz. He is survived by his children—Joel, Luis, Rene, Guadalupe, and Ana—along with nineteen grandchildren, ten great‑grandchildren, and several siblings. His family was his greatest pride and joy. Amador was a strong, caring, and hardworking man who dedicated his life to supporting and uplifting others. He touched countless lives through his generosity, quiet strength, and steady presence. He earned the respect of many and the love of even more. He was the kind of father and grandfather who showed up—whether for birthdays, special occasions, or life’s small everyday moments. He loved sharing advice, telling stories from his past, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. A devoted father, caring husband , and a true provider, Amador built a legacy rooted in love, resilience, and family. In 2023, Amador was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 74. Despite multiple surgeries and many challenges, he fought courageously for three years with the same determination that defined his life. He ultimately lost his battle on March 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He will be deeply missed by his children, his family, and all those whose hearts he touched throughout his lifetime. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 2 PM to 6 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
