Alycia Franklin-Collier

November 24, 1973 — July 17, 2025

Indianapolis, IN

Alycia Dawn Franklin-Collier passed away Thursday July 17, 2025. She is survived by her husband Erick and her three sons Benjamin, Alexander, and Elijah. Born in San Jose California on November 24, 1973 she enjoyed her childhood with her loving mother Patricia and her two sisters and one brother (Diana, Jolina, And Michael). Her Father in law Thomas Collier and Mother in law Charlotte looked upon her as the daughter they never had. She had countless friends and family who may not be noted here just because there are too many. Alycia was loved by so many.

She graduated from Mira Mesa High School, Where she met her future husband. They were married from 1997 until the time of her passing. They would have celebrated the twenty-eighth anniversary in September.

Alycia had a passion for Christian music and older Disney movies. She found she was good with people and began working retail at a young age, her favorite time being the five years she worked for Disney.

She loved hiking, camping, and swimming. Her family spent several vacations in the outdoors. Lake Tahoe was particularly a favorite destination. She loved to photograph nature and family events. There was never a vacation without her camera.

She has taken several trips to Disneyland because she enjoyed the fantasy. Her Pilgrimages to Disney World were always a joyous adventure for her and her family. Her Most recent trip, she made matching tee shirts for everybody, every day. Each shirt signified a special occasion and milestone reserved for the trip. Everyone had a celebration day reserved for them.

She had a quiet strength. Elijah was born with a heart defect. Alycia would spend all day, every day at the hospital just to be with the child who needed her. Both finally came home almost a month after Elijah was born. He is now 22 and healthy and her love is still with him.

She had an easy time making friends whenever she changed employment. Many of her friends, from jobs that are long gone, have been in contact with her still. She was always easy to love. Her final place of employment was at Indiana University in the parking department. She loved the people she worked with, especially the pot luck lunches.

She seemed to shine brightest at organization and taking charge of managing. She was our go-to for making sure our world was on-track, and she got us where we needed to be when we needed it. Every move, every school event, and every important dates in our lives.

She was always there for her children; swim meets, concerts, high school stage shows, she always made the time to be available for her children. Her supportive nature motivated her children and made her husband a better man. She loved without conditions and knew she was loved and appreciated.

She was an avid Football fan. This brought her many years of pleasure, many years of comradery with others, and its fair share of rivalries. She was a Chargers fan to the very end, cheering loud and celebrating every point and victory.

She was a lover of superheroes, from Marvel to DC. Her favorite of all time was Superman, a superhero that embodied love, kindness, and courage for all. Despite differences. Despite places of origin. The last trip to the movie theaters was to watch the James Gunn Superman 2025 film, which she believed was the best representation of her beloved superhero to date.

Without her, there is sadness and the feeling that there will always be a good part of our world which is now lost.

She had a devotion to Jesus and is singing in heaven tonight.
