Alvin John Haley, MD

Alvin John Haley of Carmel, IN, died on June 24, 2024, at the age of 97. He was born in Hartford City, IN, on November 2, 1926, to parents, John Wilbur and Mary Jane (Leaman) Haley. He was a United States Navy World War II Veteran. Having graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1953, Alvin was a practicing physician for 50 years. He is a past President of Indiana State Medical Association and Indiana Academy of Family Physicians. He was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash in 1997 and was a long-time member of Second Presbyterian Church.

Al married Sara in 1984. He is survived by Sara, children, Laurie Kauffman, Linda (David) Jenkins, John (Julie) Haley, Lisa Haley, and Lona (Paul) Snyder; grandchildren, Danielle (Jason) Rekeweg, Keltie Haley, and Nick Haley; and great grandchildren, Matthew and Caleb Rekeweg.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Second Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Presbyterian Church or the Humane Society for Hamilton County Indiana.
