Alvin J. Beitelschees, 88 of Carmel, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015. Al was born August 4, 1926 in Toledo, OH to the late Wm. Edward and Minnie Beitelschees. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army and was a graduate of the University of Toledo, with a degree in Engineering.
Al worked as a mechanical engineer for Doehler-Jarvis in Toledo, serving as Division Plant Engineer before retiring. He was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church, Carmel and an associate member of All Saints Lutheran Church, Toledo. He was also a member of the Toledo Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 10 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, where family and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
Al is survived by his wife, Gerry Beitelschees; children, Lynn S. (husband, Jim) Ryan, Todd D. (wife, Susan) Beitelschees, Rev. Amy (husband, Harry) Beitelschees-Albers and Dr. Ted A. (wife, Rev. Julie) Beitelschees; stepchildren, Dale Marie (husband, David) Fishel and Jon (wife, Jane) Selsemeyer; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Beitelschees.
