Alva Marshall Short

Alva Marshall Short, age 91 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday morning, December 11, 2023.

Al was born on December 18, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of Kenneth and Blanche Short.

He was married to Rosetta Short.  She preceded him in death in January of 2019.

He is survived by his two sons: John Short of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jeff (wife Candy) Short of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Five grandchildren: Nicholas Short of New Palestine, Indiana, Hannah (husband Nate) Kuznia of Fortville, Indiana, Kyle (wife Tonya) Smith of Middleville, Michigan, Megan (husband Logan) Gray of Mooresville, Indiana, Cameron (wife Chelsea) Short of Martinsville, Indiana.

Four great grandchildren: Dezarae Gray, Delanee Gray, Hayven Gray, Luna Gray.

Many nieces, nephews, other family members and relatives also survive.

He is preceded in death by one great grandson: Jeffrey Joseph “JJ” Smith who preceded him in death in January of 2023.

He is also preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.

A private family visitation and service will be held.  He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery next to his wife Rosetta Short.
