Alta Miller Taylor

Alta Miller Taylor 97, passed away January 13, 2013. She was born to the late Claude and Audie (Grimes) Lee in Liberty, KY on February 28, 1915. Alta loved to travel and grew beautiful flowers, which were featured in the Indianapolis Star Magazine. She enjoyed being the center of attention, and is remembered as the life of the party. For many years Alta was an active member of First United Evangelical Church, Mars Hill. Alta is survived by her children Norma Bennett (Jack); Ruth Lewis (Tracey); Verlin Miller; Harold Miller (Sue); and Larry Miller (Toni). She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Alta was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Clarence Alvis Miller, and her husband of seven years, Ernie Taylor. Her son Charles E. Miller and daughters-in-law Georgia Lee Miller and Berthie Ann Miller also preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur .
