Alma Ola (Morris) Millar was born March 17, 1920 to Perry and Lula
Morris in Middleburg, Kentucky. She lived on the family farm with her
three sisters and brother until their move to Indianapolis where she
spent the rest of her life. She married Rollin James Millar on May 30,
1948. They had two children – Judith Lynn and Steven Douglas, a son-in-law,
Rick, and a daughter-in-law, Karen, as well as 4 grandchildren – Stefanie,
Matthew, Lauren and Chad. She has 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews,
grand-nieces and nephews. Although her family is scattered around
the country – she found great happiness visiting them when she was
younger, and keeping in contact with them as the years went by.
She had a full and busy life – with many friends, and a wide range of
interests, experiences, travels and jobs, as well as being a full-time
homemaker while her children were young. She had an artistic talent
that expressed itself in drawing, decorating, fashions, gardening, and
cooking. She enjoyed reading, history, music and dancing. She was an
enthusiastic hostess, and loved giving parties. She enjoyed yard games,
playing cards, and time with her children and grandchildren.
Alma was able to live in her own home & enjoyed a very healthy life.
Alma passed away Sunday morning, May 20 at the home of her
daughter and son-in-law.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 25 at 10 am at Flanner
Buchanan in the Washington Park East Funeral Center and
Cemetery in Indianapolis. Services will begin at 12:00pm She will be buried next to her husband
at 12:30 pm.
