Alma Joan Reed

We are heartbroken to announce the death of Alma Joan Reed, our mother, sister, and grandmother. She peacefully passed away on July 11, 2022 in Avon, IN. Alma was born in Lebanon, Indiana on October 2, 1937 to Lawrence and Othella Jean (Small) Myers. Alma was preceded in death by her husband Gale Reed, both parents, siblings Wanna, Sonny, Jack & John, and her children Tonya & David.
Alma’s survivors include: her two sons, Rusty Nelson & Ron (Pam) Nelson; sisters Lou Ella Williams, Darlene (Mike) Nahre, Donna (Richard) Shover & Vici Myers; grandchildren Amy Phipps, Tammy (Kyle) Scott, Karmel Jacobs, Shawn (Ana) Allen, Jeremy (Apurva) Lanman, Jessi Nelson, Cole Ross, Victoria Nelson, Charlie Nelson & Heather Jones, in addition to many other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews & other loved ones.
Alma’s funeral will be at Flanner Buchannan-Floral Park at 425 Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will be at noon on Wednesday July 20, 2022, with funeral services at 1:00pm. Following the service, she will be laid to rest, alongside Gale, next door at Floral Park Cemetery.
