Alma C. Walker

Alma C. Rains Walker 84, of Indianapolis died November 8, 2013. Alma was born on July 30, 1929 in Newcomb, Tennessee to Walter and Bertha Mae (Hicks) Rains. Alma owned and operated her own beauty shop for many years out of her home. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Plainfield, IN and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fayette D. Walker, daughter Christy Walker Schoolcraft and brothers Charles Robert Rains, Jack Rains and Don C. Rains. She is survived by her brother Jerry Rains and his wife Carolyn, grandson Michael Brenton Walker and his wife Melissa, granddaughter Samantha Christine Walker, great granddaughter Mikaela Walker, son in law Samuel Schoolcraft and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4pm until 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am at the funeral center. Burial will follow the services in Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Alma's memory to AMVETS Veterans Assistance of Indianapolis.
