Alice Shorter

Alice Shorter, 86, Indianapolis passed away Sept. 30, 2015. She was born Sept. 6, 1929 in Hazard, KY to Mallie (Huff) and David Slone. She had worked in laundry at Air Port Holiday Inn for 30 years. She was a member of Chapel Glen Church of Christ and Alanon Family Group. Alice is survived by her children, Jerry Shorter, Judy (Dennis) McIntire, and Jeffrey Shorter; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Waddell and June Martin and a brother, Otis Slone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Shorter; sisters, Leona and Sofie Slone and a brother, Roscoe Slone. Visitation will be 2 until 6 PM Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Ave. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, October 5, 2015 at the funeral home.
