Alexander Brooks Rigsbee

November 18, 1994 — June 6, 2023

Carmel, Indiana

Alexander Brooks Rigsbee, 28, passed away on June 6, 2023.  He was born on November 18, 1994 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Alex graduated from Carmel High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington. He loved the Lord.  He loved and cared deeply about his family and friends.  To many who knew him he was often quiet, but had a large presence.  He was always a calming influence to those around him. He was a gentle, kind soul.  He had no interest in the material things of this world, but treasured his relationships and his music. His favorite places to be were Carp Lake, Michigan, recording his music, and any Mexican restaurant.

Over the last 3 years, his unwavering empathy for others led him to use his demeanor and education as a Mental Health Technician at Valle Vista Health System. At Valle Vista, Alex helped countless individuals of all backgrounds navigate difficulties in their lives.  His aspiration was to attain his Masters of Social Work to continue to help others.

Alex had a deep passion for music.  He was a proficient, self-taught musician and played in bands throughout high school and college.  Under the name Seagazer, he wrote, played all instruments, and sang in his many songs and albums.  He impressed others in his way of interacting with the world as an artist.

He is survived by his loving parents, Christopher and Jo Leigh (Mikula); his brother and sister, Andrew and Elizabeth (Elle); his grandparents, Catherine and William Birsfield and Robert and Carolyn Rigsbee; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.  His maternal grandparents, George and Elizabeth Mikula, preceded him in passing.
